Nuggets to Change Your World: Always Leave People Lifted!

nuggets15The Bible tells us, “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace and things wherewith one may edify (or build up) another” (Rom. 14:19).

The Greek word for “follow” in the aforementioned verse is “dioko”.  “Dioko” literally means to “pursue to persecute”.  Why would God use such a word in conjunction with building one another up?!  You could paraphrase this word this way:  “…hunt people down to build them up…”.  In other words, we need to chase people down to encourage them!  Remember this…as Christians, we must have less boasting, and more boosting!

Years ago, the Lord spoke to me and said, “Always leave people lifted!”  Remember this…leaders don’t make you think more highly of them.  Leaders make you think more highly of you!  While I am certainly not talking about flattery (as flattery takes, however praise gives), ask yourself this question…Do I consistently make others feel good about themselves?!  People are accounts waiting to be invested in…make some encouraging deposits today (Heb. 3:13)!
