Nuggets to Change Your World! (2 Timothy 2:5)

nuggets23In the Book of John chapter thirteen, and in the context of the “last supper” the Bible tells us, “Jesus knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands and that He was come from God and went to God” (Jn 13:3).  The scripture continues and tells us, “Ye call me Master and Lord and ye say well, for so I am.  If I then your Lord and master have washed your feet, ye also ought to wash one another’s feet” (Jn 13:13-14).

From verse three, we can glean that Jesus knew what He had, He knew where He had come from and where He was going.  In verse thirteen, He knew who He was.  Therefore, it was easy for the Master to serve!  When we know what we have (see II Pet. 1:3-4), where we have come from (see Lk 7:47), where we are going (see Eph. 2:10) and who we are (see Eph. 1:4-6)…it becomes easy for us to serve as well!  Knowing what we have, where we have come from, where we are going and who we are, causes us to be personally secure and enables us to serve!

Secure servants are the best servants!  Remember this…personal security allows personal service!  Personal security will allow you to give yourself away.  Personal insecurity will cause you to hold on to yourself today.  Personal security will allow you to give away what you have.  Personal insecurity will cause you to hold on to what you have (you’ll hold on to your time, your feelings, your love, your encouragement, your consideration of others, your friends, etc. etc.).  Remember this…security gives you the liberty to give away generously.  Insecurity puts you in bondage to hold on and be stingy!
