22 Jul Why Should I? (Learning to See Yourself as God Sees You!) Gal. 3:11 Part 11
Last week we continued to discuss “Why Should I?”:
1. Why should I say “I can’t” when the Bible says, “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” (Phil 4:13!)
2. Why should I fear when God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind (II Tim. 1:7)?!
3. Why should I be weak when the Lord is the strength of my life (Ps. 27:1, Eph 6:10)?!
4. Why should I lack when God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil 4:19)?!
5. Why should I be in bondage when the truth has made me free (John 8:31-32)?!
This week, let’s continue…
6. Why should I worry when I can cast all my care on the Lord (I Pet. 5:7)?!
In the kingdom of God, we are always limited to our source. When we worry, we are our source. In other words, when we worry we are inadvertently trying to “meet our needs according to our riches in glory by ourselves”. You see, a worry addict tries to satisfy the mind just like the drug addict tries to satisfy his craving!
To worry or not to worry is a choice. The Bible tells us, “Be careful (or anxious) for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make your requests known unto God and the peace of God which passeth all understanding shall guard your heart and mind through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6-7). The phrase “be anxious for nothing” is a command in the Greek. Thus, worry is a choice!
7. Why should I be cursed when the Bible says I’m blessed (Eph. 1:3)?!
Here the Bible tells us, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”
Did you know that God is on vacation? “What?!” you might be asking at this juncture. God is on vacation! In other words, God is not going to do one more thing about your problems, healing, peace, joy or blessing. Why…because He hath blessed you already. That’s why to pray, “Lord bless them” or “Lord bless me” is a futile prayer…because you are already blessed! “Well I sure don’t feel very blessed.” Feelings have nothing to do with your blessing…faith does!
Next time when someone sneezes around you, rather than saying, “Bless you” try saying this, “You are sooo good looking!” Since I am already blessed, I know I could use that second statement much more than the first!
8. Why should I accept defeat when the Bible says that God always causes me to triumph (II Cor. 2:14)?!
9. Why should I be stuck in the past when there is no condemnation in Christ Jesus (Rom. 8:1)?!
