The View (Because What Gets Your Attention Gets You) Part 6

We have been discussing “6 Very Vivacious Viewpoints Verifying the Vitality of the View”:

1. What I continually see… affect me (Matt. 12:33-35).

2. What I continually see… affects my priority (Matt. 6:22-24).

3. What I continually see… affect my destiny (Prov. 29:18).

This week, let’s continue…

4. What I continually see…affects my body (Prov. 4:20-23).

I mentioned last week how I went through a very difficult time in my life 22 years ago. At that time, I could barely walk and barely talk. My arteries were clogged. I had angina constantly, heart palpitations and irregular heartbeats were frequently occurring in my body. In the natural, it was a very scary period of time in my life. During my “recovery”, my wife would drive almost everywhere. Whenever we would pass a jogger, I would elbow Anne and tell her, “See that jogger? Soon that will be me!” Guess who that is today? Me! I lift weights four times each week (I can literally do things that I couldn’t do when I was 28!) and jog three times a week! What you continually see…affects your body!

I know of a pastor’s wife whose eyesight had begun to deteriorate tremendously. She wore very thick glasses! A healing evangelist had come to her church and she had done a very good job of avoiding him during all his healing meetings at her church. You see, she had been prayed for over and over by many healing evangelists and had gotten no better. Finally, on the healing evangelist’s last night there, he called her forward to pray for her. Sheepishly she went forward to be prayed for. The evangelist covered her eyes with his hands and asked her, “Can you see?” She began to open her eyes and the evangelist said, “No, close your eyes…can you see?” Well this went back and forth like this for a few moments until it finally dawned on her. The evangelist was not asking her if she could see physically. He was asking her if she could see herself seeing on the inside! She began to meditate on the truth stated in I Peter 2:24 that she was healed, and as she meditated on this she could finally see herself seeing. Finally, she opened her eyes and she could physically see perfectly!

What you continually see, truly affects your body! Next week we’ll continue our discussion.
