19 May Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way (Because Tenacity is a Necessity to Fulfill your Destiny) Part 4
Last summer, we ordained a very precious widow into the ministry. Let me share with you some of Gwen Edland’s story (who is a World Changers Bible Institute student).
In her late 50’s, Gwen’s husband lay dying on his bed. Gwen cried out to God, “Lord, if you’ll have him receive Jesus before he dies, I’ll do anything You want me to do and I’ll go anywhere You want me to go.”Well, right before Gwen’s husband died he was gloriously saved! So Gwen kept her word. “Where do you want me to go, God?” she prayed. She then heard God clearly tell her to go back to school and get her nursing degree.
At 60, she received her nursing degree and then God began to send her all over the world to do medical clinics and preach the gospel. Gwen has led thousands and thousands of people to Jesus Christ and when she goes, miracles follow her. She goes to the darkest of places. Not too long ago she preached in the mountains of Nepal where they still sacrifice babies to their false gods. She has led hundreds of Muslims to Jesus Christ! Gwen has now preached in over 70 countries and she is 80 years old. She still travels to approximately two different countries every month (Joy Church supports her trips financially) and at 80, she is just like the energizer bunny…she keeps on going and going and going!
Just before Christmas, a car broadsided Gwen. Her car was totaled but Gwen did not have a scratch on her. There at the scene of the accident, Gwen led two tow truck drivers to Jesus Christ! Gwen understands what I’m telling you today…tenacity is a necessity to fulfill your destiny!
Next week, we’ll continue our series!
