11 Jun Eulogy to the Living (Small changes in the words you speak will make a big difference in the life you live) Part 1
My father went to be with Jesus about 10 years ago. Shortly before his home going my mother and father were just about to celebrate their 48th wedding anniversary. It was during this time that God spoke very clearly to my heart. He let me know that my dad would not make it to their 50th wedding anniversary so we should celebrate the 48th anniversary as if it were their 50th. So Anne and I set my mother and father up in a beautiful hotel with a balcony overlooking one of the best views in the hotel. We took them out to a very fancy dinner and celebrated just like it was their 50th anniversary, just as the Lord said. My father then went on to be with Jesus shortly thereafter.
I did the memorial service here at Joy Church and we truly celebrated his life instead of mourning his death. Multiple people actually gave their lives to Jesus at this service! People came to me afterwards and were incredulous that I was able to get through the service without becoming emotional. While I love my dad and miss him, it was actually quite easy….because I had already given his eulogy to the living. I was able to do everything I wanted to do with him and express everything I wanted to express to him!
Don’t just hand out flowers and compliments at someone’s funeral! Have a eulogy for the living!
It’s actually little things that no one sees, that create big things that everyone wants! Little changes in the words you speak will make a big difference in the life you live!
