15 Oct I Recognize You! (Learning to recognize people, places and points that are pivotal in your life): PART 2

Last week we began our series with a Bible parable, a powerful principle contained within from Matthew 13:44, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.”  As you can see, the treasure is hidden in a field.  Therefore God frequently hides treasure in dirt. If you want the treasure, you must get past the dirt!  We must all learn to recognize the treasure in the dirt!

We began to share with you “Three Realms of Recognition”:

  1. People (Matt. 13:44) – People are much more important than you may know!  

5 Points Pertaining to the Importance of People:

  1. Association gives you motivation for your destination.
  2. Right voices…right choices.  Who you allow to speak into your life will determine the choices you make in life.
  3. Right connections…right directions.  When God wants to bless your life He will send someone into your life.  When the devil wants to curse your life, he will send someone into your life.
  4. It’s impossible to live the right life when you have the wrong friends!  The Bible tells us, “He that walks with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed” (Prov. 13:20).
  5. If you want to make wiser decisions, associate with wiser people. 

This week we continue. Now that you can clearly see just how important people can be…it is imperative that we recognize them when God sends them to us.  We must discover the treasure!

Now please allow me to share with you “11 Treasure Tips”:

  1. God frequently hides treasure behind dirt.

The people God sends you may not always be “wrapped” the way you want them to be.

2. God hides greatness in weakness.

We have a little 85 year old woman who comes here to Joy Church.  She is tiny and fairly quiet but she has traveled on close to 200 mission trips and led thousands to Christ!  God hides greatness in weakness. Remember this:  Famous and greatness are two different things.  There are famous people who aren’t great and great people who aren’t famous!

3. God hides great behind common.

4. To access the treasure you must honor the dirt.

You cannot receive from that which you do not honor.

5. God digs through the dirt to find the treasure.  People dig through the treasure to find the dirt!  

The Bible tells us in Proverbs 16:27, “An ungodly man digs up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire.”
