22 Oct I Recognize You! (Learning to recognize people, places and points that are pivotal in your life): PART 3
Remember: If you want the treasure, you must get past the dirt! We must all learn to recognize the treasure in the dirt!
This month we began to share with you “Three Realms of Recognition”:
- People (Matt. 13:44) – People are much more important than you may know!
Let’s review the “11 Treasure Tips” that we have shared…
- God frequently hides treasure behind dirt.
- God hides greatness in weakness.
- God hides great behind common.
- To access the treasure you must honor the dirt.
- God digs through the dirt to find the treasure. People dig through the treasure to find the dirt!
This week let’s continue with…
6. To get what God intends you must receive who God sends.
The Bible tell us, “He that receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward; and he that receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward” (Matt. 10:41-42).
7. When you ask God for something…He will send it through somebody.
Jesus tells us in Luke 6:38, “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Anne and I were recently given a very nice gift card to a very nice indoor golf establishment. While this gesture was extremely nice it was not something Anne and I were very interested in. For a long time I have lived by the principle that when someone gives you something, “If it doesn’t meet a need, it must be a seed!” Therefore we prayed about who to give this gift card to.
God clearly gave us direction to give this gift card to a police officer and his wife in our church. When we did, we knew we had a God connection. This police officer’s wife just that morning, asked God specifically for a gift card to this exact place for her birthday! Tears began to flow through her eyes as she realized that only God could have orchestrated this specific event. When you ask God for something…He will send it through somebody!
