19 Nov I Recognize You! (Learning to recognize people, places and points that are pivotal in your life): PART 6
The Bible tells us, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hides, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field” (Matt. 13:44). One key principle that you can take away from this little but powerful parable is that: God frequently hides treasure in dirt.
Last week we began sharing e “5 Familiarity Facets”:
- When His grace becomes common place.
2. With acclimation comes a lack of appreciation.
This week let’s continue with…
3. When miracles become monuments.
Many of the most anti-Christian universities once began as Christian schools for missionaries and ministers. What once was a miracle is now simply empty words on a monument.
4. When something that used to turn you on…you now turn on.
Do you remember when you and your spouse were dating? Do you remember that cute little snort she made when she was laughing? Now that you have been married for ten years, when she snorts you want to strangle her! Ladies, do you remember when that motorcycle he rode when you were dating was so masculine and cool? Now that you have been married ten years it’s more like “When are you ever going to sell that death trap?”
5. When the devil can’t steal it from you…he’ll just cause you to take the precious for granted.
Your Jesus is precious…don’t take Him for granted. Your spouse if precious…don’t take him/her for granted. Your child is precious…don’t take them for granted! Your church is precious…don’t take it for granted! Remember this: When the ocean is in your back yard, you tend not to swim in it! What do you say…let’s become “Christian gold diggers”! Let’s find the treasure in every person!
Next week we will continue our series…
