Badge (discovering that authority is the channel through which God’s power flows): Part 10

Over the last number of months, we began our discussion with “Six Submit Standards”:

  1. There is a difference between submit and surrender. (Mark 8:34-35)

Remember this:  Always submit yourself to God, but never surrender to the devil!

      2. You must get under what is over you, in order to get over what is under you!  (James 4:7)

Remember:  If your “resister” isn’t working….check up on your “submitter”.

      3. There are certain things you should submit to and there are certain things you should resist. (John 10:10)

“3 Resist Reasonings”:

  1.       Anything that steals, kills or destroys…resist!
  2.       Anything Jesus bore FOR you on the cross…resist!
  3.      God is good….He does good things.  The devil is bad…he does bad things.  They never swap jobs.  They never work together.  PERIOD!  (see James 1:13-17)

     4.  Just because it happened, does not automatically mean it is the will of God.  Just because it is the will of God, doesn’t automatically mean it will happen!

     5.  If you believe everything that happens is the will of a sovereign God, it will put you in a state of non-resistance to the devil.  (James 3:13-17)

     6.  You can’t leave up to God what He left to you. (Mark 16:15-20)

Remember this:  Many people are waiting on God, what if God is waiting on you?

Now let’s talk about that delegated authority.  “Six Authority Aspects”:

1.) God works through representation. (John 13:20)

“Verily, verily I say unto you, He that receives whoever I send receives me; and he that receives me receives him that sent me.”   Remember this:  If you don’t receive WHO God sends, you won’t receive WHAT God intends.  The Bible tells us that we are His ambassadors (II Cor. 5:20).  Ambassadors represent another country.  It’s like God has given us power of attorney.  If you have given someone power of attorney, your attorney now has the right to represent you.

Remember this:  When God wants to bless you, He will send someone to you!  If you don’t receive who God sends, you won’t receive what He intends!

The Bible tells us in Mark 13:44, “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man has found, he hides and for joy thereof goes and sells all that he has, and buys that field.”  This parable gives us a powerful principle.  God hides treasure in dirt.  The Bible also tells us in II Corinthians 4:2, “But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.”  You may not always like the “package” the treasure comes in.

Remember this:  If you want to get to the treasure you must look past the dirt!Join us next week as we continue our series…
