11 Jan Shut the Front Door! (Learning to shut the door to the enemy in your life) PART 3
I have a pastor who has been a friend of mine for decades. He was scheduled to make a ministry trip to Guatemala. He had been to this particular area to minister many times before. However, this time something on the inside just did not sit right with him about going on that trip. After truly taking it before the Lord he decided not to go.
The ministry that my pastor friend was going to minister for owned a small private plane to assist their travel through the vast Guatemalan countryside. The very week my pastor friend was supposed to be there, a ministry team flew on a very cloudy day. This ministry team was caught in thick clouds and as they pulled out of these clouds found a huge mountain directly in front of them. They did not have time to pull up and crashed into the mountain side. All of the travelers on this plane died. My pastor friend would have been on the plane! Thank God He listened to the still small voice of the Holy Spirit and shut the door to the devil in his life!
Please allow me to remind you of our key verses from this series:
- John 5:14 “Afterward Jesus finds him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, you are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto you.”
- I Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about seeking whom he may devour.”
- John 14:30 “Hereafter I will not talk much with you; for the prince of this world cometh and hath nothing in me.”
- I John 5:18 “We know that whosoever is born of God sins not; but he that is begotten of God keeps himself, and that wicked one touches him not.”
Last month I also gave you “Four Biblical Balances to Opposition”:
- If you’ve never had a head-on collision with the devil…chances are you’re walking with him!
- With divine opportunity comes demonic opposition.
- When you experience opposition, don’t just assume you are doing something wrong…it may be you are doing something right!
- Many times the tallest trees experience the harshest winds.
