30 Jan Code Red (Learning to look at what you’re going TO instead of what you’re going through) PART 14
Over the past few weeks we have been sharing “7 Outstanding Outlines to Overcoming Crisis”
from Psalms 112:7-8: “He shall not be afraid of evil tidings; his heart is fixed, trusting in the Lord. His heart
is established, he shall not be afraid, until he see his desire on his enemies.”
Let’s review…
1. How you respond in a crisis is key (Mark 5:36)
2. What God did for another He can do for you (Acts 10:4)
3. Rehearsing past victories is proof you are unstoppable. (I Sam. 17:34-37)
4. Your feelings are created by your focus (Rom. 8:6)
5. In crisis…get and give perspective (II Kings 6:16)
In crisis, people either “freak out” or “faith out.” As leaders, one of the first things we
must do is GET perspective. You can’t give what you don’t have.
6. Quitting never improves your life. (Gal. 6:9)
Here the scripture tells us, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we
shall reap, if we faint not.
This week we continue with…
7. Your endurance discourages your enemy. (Phil. 1:28)
Here the Bible tells us, “And in nothing terrified by your adversaries: which is to them an
evident token of perdition, but to you of salvation, and that of God.”
Please allow me to share with you “Three Endurance Entrances”:
1) You can change the devil’s will but he doesn’t have to change yours. (James 4:7)
Here the Scripture tells us, “Submit yourself to God. Resist the devil and he shall flee
from you.” John 10:10 tells us the devil’s “will”…he “wills” to steal, kill and destroy.
However, if you will submit to God and resist the devil with the Word of God, you
can change his will to desiring to flee from you! The Greek word “flee” is “pheugo”
which means to flee in stark terror!
2) Choosing joy releases the power of endurance. (James 1:2-4)
Here the Word of God tells us, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into divers
temptations: knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience. But let
patience have her perfect work, that you may be perfect and entire, wanting
nothing.”
Notice that if you choose joy when various trials come your way…it releases
“patience.” The Greek word translated “patience” is “hupomone,” which is a patient
endurance that simply won’t budge. The early church called it the “queen of all
virtues.” They knew what I want you to know…if you have endurance, you can
outlast your trials!
3) Focus on what you are going TO, not what you’re going THROUGH!
No matter what you are going through today, remember this powerful scripture
from Psalm 34:19, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us
out of them all!”
If you’ll follow these Biblical truths you can be an overcomer by learning to look at what you’re going TO instead of what you’re going through!
