19 Nov Where There’s a Will, There’s a Way (Because Tenacity is a Necessity to Fulfill your Destiny) Part 27

Over the last few months (I clearly have forgotten the proverb, “Blessed are the short-winded, for they shall be invited back.”), we have shared with you our key scripture from II Timothy 1:7, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and a sound mind.”

We then began to share “10 Truths Towards Tenacity”:

  1. Tenacious people don’t’ waste time feeling sorry for themselves (Rom. 8:31).
  2. Tenacious people don’t hand the reigns of their emotional well-being to another (Phil. 4:4)
  3. Tenacious people embrace change (Ps. 55:19)
  4. Tenacious people don’t waste energy on things they can’t control (Phil. 2:14).
  5. Tenacious people are not people pleasers (Prov. 29:25).
  6. Tenacious people are courageous (Joshua 1:6-9).
  7. Tenacious people let go of the past (Phil. 3:13-14)
  8. Tenacious people never resent other’s success (Rom. 12:15).
  9. Tenacious people just don’t quit (Prov. 24:16).
  10. Tenacious people are in it for the long haul (Ps. 92:13-14).

Here the Bible says, “Those that be planted in the house of the Lord shall flourish in the courts of our God.  They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be fat and flourishing.”  Please allow me to share with you “Four Long Haul Lessons”:

      1. Be planted, not potted.  According to the aforementioned verse we shared from Psalm 92:13, be planted in the house of the Lord.  There is a big difference between planted and potted.  When you are planted you grow long and strong roots.  When you are potted, you are always uprooting.  I watch people sow “seeds” in a field and then leave that “field”.  Then they wonder where their harvest is…well, it’s coming up back there in the field you left.  Sometimes, it takes a lifetime to make a difference (Ps. 92:14)!
      2. Celebrate incremental success (Prov. 13:11).  I learned a long time ago to be a plodder.  A journey of a mile or a thousand miles always begins with the first step!
      3. You can change your direction overnight, but you can’t change your destination overnight.
      4. Starters are plenteous in the Body of Christ.  Finishers are rare!

Tenacity is a necessity to fulfill your destiny!
