Approximately two years ago, we had a precious 18-year-old young woman move here to the Nashville area. She is a pastor’s kid and one of ten siblings. She came to Joy Church wounded and spiritually burned out. Anne and I have such a compassion for “PKs” as they live so much of their lives in a “fish bowl.” If you don’t walk on water you can come under a very high level of scrutiny. This young lady came to Joy and slowly began to get her spiritual fervor back. She is now fully healed, fired up and serves enthusiastically on the praise team! She went with...

It is amazing what the power of joy will do in your life! Let's review our series by first remembering what the Bible tells us: 1. “This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it.” (Ps. 118:24) Notice the little word “will.” That tells us something very important. It is a choice to rejoice! One of the greatest truths you can ever learn as a Christian is that you are not a slave to your feelings! Let feelings in your car, but never let them in the driver’s seat! Feelings are meant to be felt…but they are not meant...

She is no longer suicidal and her life is anchored in the joy of the Lord. She even recently led another young lady to Jesus Christ! It is amazing what the power of joy will do in your life! The Bible tells us: 1. “This is the day the Lord has made, I...

When someone is about to go to Heaven…what they say at the very end of their life should be carefully listened to, valued and carried out! Last words are important!  Over the last few weeks we have been sharing  that Jesus actually made seven different statements as He hung on the cross and prepared to see His Father once again.  Those seven powerful statements all have principled meaning to us today. Let's review what we have already shared. “Father forgive them, for they don’t know what they do” (Luke 23:24).  We will refer to this as Pardon. How you respond when people...
