Many years ago, Anne and I were ministering in another church and we were praying for the sick.  There was a teenage girl there who requested prayer for her kneecap.  She had a floating kneecap that was detached from the bone.  There was a doctor in the audience who happened to be an orthopedic surgeon.  I asked him to come up and examine the kneecap before we prayed.  He did and found that he could get all four fingers underneath her kneecap.   We then prayed for her and I asked the doctor to now re-examine her.  To his amazement, he found...

The Bible tells us in I Peter 1:1, “Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia.”  And in I Peter 2:11, “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.” In I Peter 1:1 the Greek word translated “stranger” and in I Peter 2:11 the Greek word translated “pilgrim” are both the same Greek word “parepidemos.”  As you study that powerful word, you can see that our English word “epidemic” comes from this.  When you put “par” (from the Greek “para”) in front...

    Special Announcement on Children's Ministry availability! Joy Kidz & Generation Joy     More and more people are coming back to churches all over the country, and we have been continuing to step back into areas of ministry in increments. We have some changes   Weekends: We are excited to announce that we started reopening our infants and 1 year old classrooms in JoyKidz in October!
