Joy Church is continually reaching out to the police in our community.  There are presently about 30-40 police officers and their families who are active parts of our church.  Unfortunately, one of our officers was recently shot in the line of duty.  He is a S.W.A.T. officer and a wonderful man of God.  He just gave his video testimony at Joy Church (you can see it by checking out Joychurch.net). He recounted miracle after miracle in which the devil meant to kill him, but God intervened and turned his situation around!  The bullet missed a main artery by a half of...

Over the last few weeks we have shared on 10 Truths Towards Tenacity: Tenacious people don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves (Rom. 8:31). Tenacious people don’t hand the reigns of their emotional well-being to another (Phil. 4:4). Tenacious people embrace change (Ps. 55:19). Tenacious people don’t waste energy on things they can’t control (Phil. 2:14).       “4 No Moan Zone Milestones”: Focus on what you do have not what you don’t have (I Thes. 5:18). This week let’s continue with...

We have a very large contingency of police officers who come to Joy Church (I’ve had to cut way back on my illegal activity…lol!).  It is just one of those “God things”…they truly feel safe at Joy Church.  Within this large contingency of police officers, we have many S.W.A.T. officers who must undergo special and rigorous training in order to be a part of this select unit. Well some of these young officers know that their pastor (me!) loves to challenge himself physically.  So they are frequently telling me of the different physical training exercises that they do as they know...

Over the last few weeks we have shared on this subject.  Our key verse was II Timothy 1:7, “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.”  Then we began to teach on 10 Truths Towards Tenacity: Tenacious people don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves (Rom. 8:31). Tenacious people don’t hand the reigns of their emotional well-being to another (Phil. 4:4). Tenacious people embrace change (Ps. 55:19). We covered “9 Channels of Change”: Sometimes people are more comfortable with old problems than new solutions. The road to growth always travels through the city of change. God-given change will always...

Over the past few weeks we have been covering “9 Channels of Change” .  We have gotten through six of them: Sometimes people are more comfortable with old problems than new solutions. The road to growth always travels through the city of change. God-given change will always create better “normals” People tend to keep you where they last saw you. Your change will expose the flesh of others. When’s the last time you did something for the first time, and if it’s been a long time…it’s about time! You must be willing to initially do something poorly so you can eventually do something excellently. This week let’s cover the...

This week we continue talking about “9 Channels of Change”.  The last few weeks we covered 4 of them: 1. Sometimes people are more comfortable with old problems than new 2. The road to growth always travels through the city of change. 3. God-given change will always create better “normals” 4. People tend to keep you where they last saw you.  Your change will expose the flesh of others. This week we continue with...

Approximately 23 years ago I almost died.  I had horrible cardiovascular symptoms…continual angina, frequent arrhythmia; constant difficulty breathing and thus I could barely walk and barely talk.  I became so emaciated I couldn’t even do simple household tasks around the house.  When I taught at World Changers Bible Institute I had to do so sitting down and only barely above a whisper. I knew all the healing scriptures and could recite them to you via memory. I had taught on healing for years and had seen hundreds of people divinely healed over the years. I had prayed and for six months not...

Last week we began to share with you how to be tenacious…remember our key verse, II Timothy 1:7:  “God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.”  Then we began to share with you “10 Truths Towards Tenacity”: Tenacious people don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves (Rom. 8:31). Tenacious people don’t hand the reigns of their emotional well-being to another (Phil. 4:4). This week we continue...

Last week, we were discussing  "10 Truths Toward Tenacity" and we began discussing: 2. Tenacious people don’t hand the reigns of their emotional well-being to another (Phil. 4:4). Please allow me to share with you six more things you should never give away to others in order to maintain your tenacity: 1) Your attitude!  -You can’t always control the circumstances or people who come into your life, but you can always control your attitude towards them. -It only takes a moment to make an attitude adjustment! -The attitude you presently have is the one you’ve presently chosen! -People meet your attitude before they meet...

Tenacity is a necessity to fulfill you destiny! Over the last number of weeks, we began to share with you how…remember our key verse, II Timothy 1:7:  “God has not give you a spirit of fear, but of power, love and a sound mind.”  Then we began to share with you “10 Truths Towards Tenacity”: 1. Tenacious people don’t waste time feeling sorry for themselves (Rom. 8:31). Within that section we gave you 6 Very Vivacious Victor Verbals: 1) Life is not always fair.  People are not always fair. God is ALWAYS fair. 2) You are not a loser…you are a chooser (Deut. 30:19). 3)...
